School Records Fall at Alex Wilson Meet

The men's and women's track and field teams finished the indoor season in style with great performances at the Alex Wilson last chance meet hosted by Notre Dame. All five who competed at the meet (pictured left to right: Erynn James, Sarah Verdoliva, Tyler O'Brien, Katlin Millin and Olivia Johnson) set personal records and three set school records.

Redshirt Junior Sarah Verdoliva ran 2:12.38 in the 800m to break the 11-year old school record set previously by Jessica Berlowski in 1998. Sarah had surgery for compartment syndrome this past fall and is still not 100% yet. The sky is limit once she is healthy!

Sophomore Tyler O'Brien has returned to form, running 21.87 to break his own school record after a December back injury set his training back about a month.

Junior Erynn James equaled the school record in the high jump clearing 5'9.25" (1.76m) to tie Christine Spindler's 1993 jump on the record board. Erynn missed the latter half of the 2008 outdoor season, all summer and all fall with a stress fracture in her plant foot. This was only Erynn's 4th competition of the season.

Junior Katlin Millin and sophomore Olivia Johnson each set their indoor personal best marks at 2:14.19 and 2:14.24 respectively. That will tie Katlin for #8 and Olivia is #10 on the all time list.
