Sophomore Blake Johnson leads sophomore Jack Hackett in the 3000. Johnson and Hackett would finish 2nd and 3rd overall.

Our men's and women's track and field teams each placed 2nd behind UW-Madison at the Badger Quad on Saturday. As the team's first meet back after the holiday break the team showed plenty of rust, yet competed hard. I generally expect to see a bit of rust during the first couple meets of the season. Our emphasis at this meet was to compete and not worry about marks or times. i was really happy with the overall effort I saw ad I fully expect to see impressive performances in the coming weeks.
Our next meet is on Saturday with a dual meet against UW-Milwaukee at the UWM Klotsche Center. Field events begin at 10:00am with running events to start after the completion of the field events. I really hope to see a lot of Blue and Gold in the stands and make this "away" meet more of a home meet for us!
After 5 weeks off for final exams and the holidays, the Marquette Track and Field teams make their return to action Saturday at the Badger Quad hosted by UW-Madison. The four team scored meet will also feature UW-Milwauke and SIU-Edwardville in addition to the host Badgers and Marquette. The meet begins at 11:00am with the field events and the running events start at 11:30am.
